Beast of Love | Kaneki x Male!Ghoul!Reader

3 years after the ccg destroyed your parents. You had been living with your aunt, who just got married recently. She was thirty-two and he was twenty-eight. You decided to move out with an excuse of letting them to have their own privacy, even though aunt Kiyoko was kind of against it. But you told her you were a grown up man already you can take care of yourself (she said you still look like a little boy in her eyes. For God's sake, you are freaking eighteen). You do love her, she was the only family you had. Her man was pretty rich and very kind. He even bought you a freaking expensive game console, even though you were not really a gamer yourself. You felt a bit of ease to let that guy to take care of your aunt. They were cute couple. Both of them were ghouls too by the way, but they were acting more to humans.

Here you are. In your brand new apartment. Alone. With tons of box need to be unboxed. Most of them were actually books. You were pretty much a literature guy. Since uh, your deceased mother was a writer. Your loved all her books. They were filled with such aesthetic language and reading them made you feel like you were reading her thoughts, and those thoughts make you feel closer to her. She was an amazing woman and also kind but, you all knew that God loves her more.

You decided to greet your new next-door neighbour. You did not really have many friends. Most of your free time were spent by reading books. So you guessed, it was the right time to make friends since you were going to live yourself.
You ringed the bell and a yellow haired boy around your age was at door.
"Yes, what can I help you, sir?"

"I'm.. uh.. just moved in the next door and I'm pretty new in Tokyo. I'm [male name]. Nice to meet you". Your forehead was sweating and you can feel like your head was spinning too because you were not very well of making a conversation with strangers. He pouted slightly as his eyes were wandering upside down as if he was judging you.

"Be more human. Be more human" Your mind screamed as  your lips twitched to form into a smile. You were wearing a bit tight jeans with a band t-shirt underneath of your grey hoodie. Your also had a blue specs on your face.

Suddenly, a grin formed on his lips.

"Well hello new buddy, I'm Hideoshi Nagachika!"

As you introduce yourself, the yellow haired boy pulled himself up and shook your hand. He had this friendly vibe in him. He was a good person, you can tell that. You handed him a plate of tacos.

"My aunt made me these before I came here. So I thought I should give you some."

"Thank you,[male name]!" you smiled in response.

"So I guess that's it. I have a few things that still need to be unpacked. I have to go now." you waved a bit as you walked to your door.

"Let's hang out sometimes!" the yellow haired boy cheered. You nodded a little as you walked into your apartment.

Eventhough you were a ghoul, your mother had been taught you to be nice to humans (in spite of humans are your food but still, be nice to food).

The next morning you woke up a bit early than usual. You prepared yourself and when out to find a good cafe for a coffee. You wandering alone at this new town as you found this hidden cafe called 'Anteiku'. You remembered once your aunt told you.

"Your new place is pretty near to Anteiku. If you need food,  just go there and meet the manager." was what she said. You guessed this cafe was the cafe she talked about 

But when the moment you walked in as you spotted a familiar human, the yellow haired hideoshi, and he waved at you with a big playful grin plastered on his face.

"Yo, [male name]! Come here and join us here!" you noticed there was a black haired guy was sitting infront of him, on the table. So you decided to join them since it is going to be awkward to go back now. As walked to them, you scanned the cafe and you smelled about 10-14 ghouls were in there. You were pretty much have a good sense of smell, even better than some average ghouls. Gotta thanks your old man for his gene.

"Hey" you greeted them. You took the sit next to the Hideoshi guy as you eyes glanced to the black haired guy infront of you. He smiled and nodded a little.

"How did you found the cafe? I thought you said you were pretty new around to Tokyo?" Hideoshi asked you. The black haired guy was taking out a book from his bag. You guessed he did not planning to join in the conversation.

"I heard about this cafe from my aunt. The owner is somehow an acquaintance of her, so I thought why not I come here, so now here I am" You said. You were a pretty much straightforward person plus there was no points to lie anyway.

The title of the book in the black haired guy's hands captured your eyes. It was one of the book that has been written by your mother, 'The Beast of Love', and that was her last book before the ccg got her.

"I don't know why you call me sweet. I'm just a monster.In a costume, It's my other side you should meet. " you mumbled unconsciously. While burning a hole on the book cover with your eyes.

"You can't see my horns, Because they are hidden. I can't show them, Or you'd call me a devil child. I have to carry that burden." You turned face to face the black haired guy as he continued to read the poem with his eyes closed,tightly, as if he was reading the poem in his mind.

"I don't know why you.Even care about me. I'm just freak, An outcast, Don't you see? "

Oh dang. How did he look so beautiful while reciting it.

"How did you know the poem?" he asked, his eyes twitched, wide open.

"Well..uh... my mother kind of write it." you said while awkwardly making some weird hands gesture. It was not because you were not proud of your mother, it just that uh you do not want people to know that she was your mother for some reasons, and now the black haired guy's eyes became widen than before.

"Whoa whoa. you never told me your mother is a writer?" Hideoshi butted it. You guessed he did not want to be left behind in the conversation.

"She was, actually. My mother was dead three years ago, along with my father." you said.

"I'm sorry" both of the males said unison. They had forlorn expression on their faces to show that they were pity of you.

You would not feel sorry if you both know that my parent was man-eater,your mind reminded you.

After a half hour later, Hideoshi said he has to go since he had a part-time job so he left you, with the black haired, which you had learned that his name was Kaneki Ken. He was into books, just like you. But his favourite author was Takatsuki Sen. You knew the author because your mother had met her once before, when Takatsuki Sen was pretty new in the literature world.

You had been hang out with both of the males pretty often in the weekends since you were studying in different university than them. They were fun to be with and you mostly liked to be with Kaneki because you both shared same interest, books. Sometimes you both would go to the book stores together to find new interesting books. Slowly, you started to envelop yourself with this weird feeling for him.
You started to find he was more interesting than the books themselves.

Eventhough, he was human but, still, it felt good to be with him.

Your father was a human anyway.

Suddenly, an unexpected happening. Kaneki got stumbled into an accident and he was being hospitalized for a few weeks. You did not know what actually had happened to him, no one tells you either. You wanted to visit him but he told you to not to.

A few days later, you knew Kaneki was already being able to go home from a nurse that worked there. Eventhough he told you not to visit him but you did secretly visit when when he was asleep but well you did not go any beyond that his ward room.

You went to his house to pay a visit with a direction of an address that had been given by Hideoshi. When you knocked the door for a few times but no one answers. but your ghoul hearing sense was pretty sure heard the tv was on. You pushed the door slowly and it opened up.

The door was unlocked...?

You gasped as you studied the current situation of his house. Every thing was messed up. Foods were everywhere on the floor. Your heart stopped the moment you sensed the smell a female ghoul's scent mixed with Kaneki's in his house.

Oh no.

OH NO.

"Don't tell me that a ghoul had attacked him here" but there were not sign of blood in this house and you thought maybe the ghoul dragged him out to somewhere.

You rushed out to search for Kaneki in the town but goddamn, tokyo was hella suffocating. There were a lot of humans everywhere and you did not like a crowded place but right now you did not care. All you do care about is finding Kaneki.

When you were running at the big zebra lines in the centre of the town, you smelled the same scent again.

"He was here and this scent smells stronger than before, I guess he was here 5 minutes ago." You ran again while following the trailed scent that lead you to the love of your life. Which was leading you to a narrow street.

You were in the urge of crying in worried. Please be fine Kaneki. Just please.

Suddenly you heard a soft growl. The sound was very near to you. You walked slowly in order to not to make any possible sounds.

"This smell again." you mumbled. But this time you smelled other human body. You smelled blood. You could hold yourself any longer so you decided to peek behind the wall and you saw something that you could not believe your eyes.

Kaneki was devouring a human. But why? And where did the female ghoul go?

You walked to behind Kaneki. "Kaneki..?"

Kaneki twitched a bit and he turned his back to meet you, with wide eyed. His left eyes...it was kakugan. But how? 

"W-why are you here?" you can hear his trembling voice. His hands was full with blood and so did his face.

"N-no you can't see me like this. I'm a m-monster now. G-go away. I might end up e-eating y-you too" you felt a pang to your heart when you saw tears were forming his eyes. You walked closer to him. But he moved backward until his back met the wall.

"You can't eat me and you wouldn't eat me. I am like you. I am a monster too." You flashed your kakugan. Eventhough you were half-ghoul and half-human but both of your eyes were still able to change into kakugan. It must be because of your RC blood cell was your dominant blood cell.

"It's alright, Kaneki. Everything is going to be fine. You have me" you said as your hands reached up for him. He was staring at your hands as he sobbed. As if like he was resisting himself.

"I'm s-scared. What will happen to me after t-this?"

"Just take my hands and will be by your side, always." He reached up to your hand slowly and pulled him into an embrace. A very tight and loving embrace.

"Hush baby, it's alright now. No one is going to hurt you now." you whispered and that was only made him sobbing harder than before.

"I love you, so please stop crying. You are making me sad too." you stroked his back softly.

"I l-love you too.."
